Over the past few weeks we have been working hard to line everything up for the first stage of testing of our new couplings at the National Engineering Lab TUV NEL.
As you may recall, we secured funding from Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency, to support new product development aimed at driving safety and sustainability in the oil, gas and chemical sectors. A project worth a total of £173,000.
The Smartflow 2” couplings will now be put through their paces at TUV NEL. We have produced these in aluminium, stainless steel and carbon steel to compare performance under rigorous test conditions.
The high quality technical data from these trials will provide essential information for international clients and the credibility and certainty that companies need when investing in and upgrading their infrastructure.
We are very excited to see this project finally get started and will be reporting back regularly with technical data from the testing labs, which will be crucial for our own product development team and the potential clients and partners we have been talking to.
There is already a huge amount of interest in these couplings globally thanks to their capabilities for improving efficiency, reducing spills and increasing productivity. The Smartflow system typically reduces the number of parts required to eliminate spills and improves health & safety, environmental and efficiency processes.
Once we have the test data available to demonstrate just how effective Smartflow Couplings are in use, we will be able to push ahead rapidly with our sales and growth plans.
